Welcome to Los Golfos
· Los Golfos is a multinational golf society based at Amarilla Golf Club, Tenerife. It was formed in 2009 by a group of 12 golfers (Spanish, Italian, English, German, Finnish and Scottish) with the aim of friendly and affordable golf in Tenerife - especially in the Winter season.
· There are many Spanish-only / English-only etc. societies on the island, but Los Golfos welcomes all nationalities, and this makes it special. Members have the opportunity to play with different nationalities (and languages!) on a regular basis, and with fair EGA handicaps.
· Correct EGA handicapping is very important to Los Golfos, and you can be sure that in all competitions any member - whatever their skill level/handicap has a fair and equal chance of winning if they play well on the day.
· Los Golfos accepts players of all skill levels who have a valid handicap, and male and female players compete together on an equal basis. There are no 'special categories'
· We use 'HandicapMaster' software to manage membership, competitions and handicapping. This software is used by golf societies throughout the world.
· Los Golfos has a regular Saturday game throughout the year, with occasional tournaments and Inter-Club tournaments We are one of the 4 societies that compete in the 'Open Concept interclub challenge' each year.
· Tee-times can be booked in advance via our 'MasterScoreboard' website. Game results are also posted there.

Los Golfos Rules
1)
Fees
a) Membership
fee is €40. This entitles you to be a
Los Golfos member.
b) Membership
fees are not renewable or transferable.
c) Fees
are payable every January. If you join
part-way through the year, the full fee must be paid and the membership lasts
only up to the following January
d) New members are required to buy a Los Golfos shirt at a current cost of €30.
e) Amarilla reserves the right to alter or amend the special Los Golfos green fee price at any time according to the member's attendance record throughout the year. Their decision is final.
f) Committee members pay the same membership fees as any other member.
2)
Membership
Cards
a) All members will receive a free membership card.
b) This card must be shown to Amarilla reception when booking in order to qualify for our special Los Golfos green fee. It is not transferable.
c) If the membership card is lost; the first replacement is free, but subsequent replacements may be charged for.
3)
Attendance
a) In order to get a favourable greenfee price in the Winter, it is very important to attend Los Golfos matches in the Summer. This is monitored - and any member that only attends Los Golfos matches in the winter may not be invited to be a member in the following year.
b) In order to win any prizes or awards in Los Golfos competitions, a member must have an active Los Golfos handicap. If you play less than 4 Los Golfos handicap qualifying games in the year, your handicap will be marked as inactive.
c) An inactive handicap can be restored to active status by attending sufficient Los Golfos handicap qualifying games (usually 3 or more)

Handicaps
a) Los Golfos maintains its own handicap list which conforms to the European Golf Association (EGA/USGA). handicapping system. This can be different to a member's Spanish Federation handicap. Only Los Golfos handicaps are used in Los Golfos handicap qualifying games.
b) Unless stated otherwise all Los Golfos games are handicap qualifying.
c) A new member starts with an inactive handicap. Their Los Golfos handicap is awarded after 3 valid scorecards are submitted, whereupon the standard EGA algorithm is applied to award an active Los Golfos handicap.
d) Any member can request a handicap reassessment on reasonable request.

Other
a) Members are expected to follow the rules of golf at all times. This includes golf etiquette on the course. Any member that brings disrepute to the society can have their membership terminated at the discretion of the committee.
b) The default languages of Los Golfos are Spanish and English. Spanish - because we play in Spain, and English - because English is a popular second language for non-Spanish speakers.
c) Members are expected to be a member of the Spanish Federation, with a current card. This is because some inter-club competitions require it, and also because SF membership includes Golf Insurance (essential when playing in Tenerife)
d) Friends of Los Golfos members (visitors) can play in the weekly games provided there are free tee-times available, but cannot win any prizes or awards or pay the special Los Golfos green fee. Some tournaments and interclub matches may be closed to non-members.
e) Any current Los Golfos member has the right to see the society's accounts on reasonable request.
f) Membership numbers are limited. New members are accepted at the discretion of the committee.

oportunidad de jugar con diferentes nacionalidades y lenguas (!) Sobre una base regular, y con handicaps EGAjustas.
· Handicap
EGA correcta es muy importante para Los Golfos, y usted puede estar seguro de
que en todas las competiciones de cualquier miembro - sea cual sea su nivel de
habilidad / discapacidad tiene una oportunidad justa e igual de ganar si juegan
bien en el día.

Los Golfos acepta jugadores de todos los
niveles que tienen un handicap válido y jugadores
masculinos y femeninos compiten entre sí en igualdad de condiciones. No
hay "categorías especiales"
· Utilizamos

Golfos tiene un juego Sábado regular durante todo el año, con torneos
